What I learned in Scotland so far #2

I’ve been in Scotland for 2 weeks now, and I have learned a few things.

Sunny days are very special and are to be treasured.

All the cars are wrong and it really messes with your head.

Scots like to “go to the pub for some pints”.

Chips are crisps and fries are chips.

Haggis is an enigma but is yummy.

When it looks like it’s about 8:30 outside, its more like 10:30.

Any bird other than a pigeon, magpie, or seagull is very exciting to see.

Biscuits are now not a southern-style bread roll you put honey or jam on.

That’s all for now.

My internship, post #1

This summer I have an internship with a data management company called Internet2, out of Ann Arbor. I’m working with staff, and using Qgis and Inkscape, to develop a digital map showing the various instructions Internet2 works with, and also which working groups they belong to. It’s pretty cool to be learning about new software and being able to have a completed project to at the end to show off my work. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
